I wrote "Everything Changed" when we were living temporarily in my friend Jay's house in Ionia, Michigan. It must have been late September or early October because it was only a week or two before we got together to make the album. I was worried the band wasn't going to want to include it because it was so new, but it squeaked by, and I thought that was cool.

I reference characters and events that happened on a backpacking trip through Central America that I went on with some close and dear people. It struck me as more of a punk rock song than anything. I was happy when Big Foot Media agreed to write, film and direct a music video for it staged entirely in Chicago with real actors and actresses, a film crew and all the jazz. what a trip to watch that all come together from a song you wrote.
